For UK tyre-waste operators
Never chase a driver, a docket or a Defra deadline again.
One record from the booking to the tip. The office plans it, the driver works it on the phone, the photos and signatures stay on the record for good, and every tip at your site is filed with Defra while you sleep.

The planner: the backlog and three drivers across the top, the week's dates down the side, each collection a chip showing its customer and site, today's row picked out with Brackenfield Tyres done and Tyre Masters to come, and a driver away on Monday.
A driver's phone on 6 Oct 2026, signed in as Dean Fletcher, headed your jobs for today: one stop complete at Brackenfield Tyres with the load recorded there, and the next stop, Tyre Masters, marked next with a button to start the collection. The drawing then plays the stop through: the load recorded, the customer's signature, and the collection marked collected.
Your drivers' days, laid out clearly
The office plans the week on one board. Each driver opens their phone and sees their own run in your order, and the office watches every stop as it happens.
Documents stored digitally
Signatures, weighbridge tickets, photos and everything a transfer note carried, kept on the collection and tip they belong to. No filing cabinet, no lost docket.
Manage third-party collection partners
Connect a carrier in a minute, allocate them collections on your planner, follow every start, arrival and tip, and keep the same digital evidence as for your own.
Automatic filing with Defra
Every tip at your site is filed with Defra overnight, inside the two working days, with nobody pressing anything. Each morning the tip log says what was accepted.
The product, working
See it in 80 seconds
One job from the phone call to the invoice, filmed in the real app with a made-up firm. Sound on or off: the words are in the picture.
Read what the video says
- From the first of October, every load of tyres your site takes in has to be reported to Defra, within two working days.
- TreadTrace runs the whole job, from the phone call to the filing.
- A customer rings. The collection is booked in under two minutes.
- Drag it onto a driver's day, and it's on their phone.
- The driver works the stop with gloves on, counting the tyres as they're loaded.
- A photo, the customer's signature, and it's done. Nobody in the office types it up.
- The load goes over the weighbridge at your depot.
- Overnight, the tip is reported to Defra, with nobody pressing anything. By morning, the tip log says so.
- At the end of the week, the invoice goes out in a few clicks.
- With the signature, the photos and the waste transfer note for every collection on it.
- And there's much more. Regulars that never slip, transfer notes emailed the moment they're signed, and every note and file kept on the record.
- Start your free thirty-day trial in a few clicks, or book a walkthrough, at treadtrace.co.uk.

The office
The whole office in one place. No whiteboard, no filing cabinet.
Customers, sites, rates, contracts, driver instructions and paperwork live on the records the planner reads directly, so your office plans the week, answers the phone and finds last March's agreement from one screen. Drag a collection to another day or driver and it is rescheduled. One undo puts it back.
- A collection booked in under two minutes, from the phone call to the planner
- Regular customers never slip. The planner tells you the day a contract falls overdue
- Every signature, photo, ticket and agreement kept on the record, found in two clicks
The planner sketched faintly behind two of the app's panels: Collection data, with two load photos, the tyres stacked at the customer's site and the load in the back of the van, the customer's and the driver's signatures as tiles, the waste transfer note and an uploaded customer contract, and a download in the corner; and Recurring collections, Brackenfield Tyres twice a month, last collected 19 September, due 3 October, overdue three days and not booked, and Kingsway Motors once a week, booked as CJ-1051.
The drivers
Give every driver a clear day, and watch every stop as it happens.
A driver signs in on the phone they already have and sees their own run in your order. Start, arrive, record the load, photo, two signatures, tip the van. Each step lands on the record in the office the moment it happens.
- A routine stop done in under two minutes, gloves on
- Nothing to install, and nothing about money on the device
- A stop that cannot be completed reaches the office at once, with the reason. No phone call
A driver's phone sketched faintly behind two cards: the driver's next stop, Tyre Masters, booked with an estimate of 90 car and 6 truck tyres and a button to start the collection; and the collection's history panel as the office sees it that afternoon, started 09:02, collected 09:41 and tipped at 16:20, with the customer's and the driver's signatures and two photos.
Invoicing
Invoice a week's work in under ten minutes, with the proof of every collection on it.
Every priced collection and delivery becomes an invoice line at the rate already on the customer's record. The customer opens the invoice under your own name and colour, sees each collection with its photos, both signatures and its waste transfer note beside the charge, and your office sees the minute they opened it.
- Your logo, your colour, your bank details and every field a UK VAT invoice needs, on the invoice and the transfer note alike
- Each collection and delivery listed with its photos, both signatures and its waste transfer note, one press away
- The record says the minute the customer opened it, with no tracking pixel and nothing to chase
The invoices list sketched faintly behind two of the app's panels. The invoice as the customer sees it: Northgate Tyres's colour ruled across the top, its name and VAT number, invoice INV-1027 issued 9 Oct 2026 and due 8 Nov 2026, billed to Tyre Masters; collection CJ-1043 on 6 Oct 2026 at B44 8PE · Kings Rd: 90 car tyres at £0.95 and 6 truck tyres at £7.20, net £128.70, VAT £25.74, total £154.44; and beneath, the proof of collection, two load photos and the customer's signature, and the collection's waste transfer note to download. And the Communication panel: status Opened, and the log, opened by the customer at 9 Oct 09:40, sent by Sarah Mills at 9 Oct 09:12.
Defra · from 1 October 2026
Sleep through the Defra deadline. Every tip files itself overnight.
The operator of a permitted site must record every load received with Defra within two working days. TreadTrace files each tip overnight from what the driver keyed at the site, and shows where every tip stands in plain words.
- Accepted before the end of the second working day, with nobody pressing anything
- A rejection shows Defra's own wording. Fix the site, the setting or the grade, and it files again that night
- Set up in under five minutes with your Defra API code and carrier registration number
The tip log sketched faintly behind one panel showing tips at Bordesley depot being filed with Defra as they arrive: each new tip lands at the top marked "Filing to Defra" with a spinner, turns to "Filed to Defra", and moves down as the next arrives, three in view at a time, each with its reference, site and weight.

What each customer sent, what each driver and vehicle carried and what each site received, by tyre grade, over any dates. Export the figures, or download them in your own letterhead, with the Environment Agency's quarterly return laid out ready to file.
Notes and instructions
Office notes the driver never sees, driver instructions placed in the run where they apply.
Team, roles and absences
Admin, billing, operations and driver roles. Absences grey the planner; they never block it.
Vehicles and their tests
Each vehicle on the fleet with its registration and test date, and a warning when one is due.
Tip sites and weighbridges
Your own sites and the recyclers you use, each saying whether it has a bridge and who reports there.
Contacts on every record
The person to ask for at a site, the person who pays the bill, and the phone number beside each.
Your name on the door
Your company name and colour on every screen your office and drivers use.

No quote calls and no hidden costs. Unlimited office users, unlimited drivers, Defra reporting and invoicing are in every plan; the only thing that changes is how much you tip. Say what a busy month looks like below and we will name your plan. A site that runs no rounds and only files with Defra has Tip only.
What you collect in a busy month
Your allowance is counted each month, so size it on a heavy month rather than an average one. A year's figure divided by twelve will do if that is the one you have.

Questions from the yard
The ones that come up on the call, answered the way we would answer them on it.
Do we still have to register with Defra ourselves?
Yes. Your organisation registers with Defra's waste tracking service, pays its annual charge and generates an API code there. You paste that code into TreadTrace once, and filing runs from then on.
What happens if Defra rejects a filing?
The tip log shows the tip as rejected with Defra's own wording, and the tip stays editable. Correct the site, the setting or the grade at fault and the tip files again the next night. Every attempt is kept on the tip's record.
What about tips at someone else's site?
The duty to report falls on the operator of the receiving site. A tip at a recycler you do not run is that operator's to report, and the tip log says so in words. Nothing is filed for it.
We are in Scotland or Northern Ireland. Does this apply to us?
Digital waste tracking starts in England and Wales on 1 October 2026 and in Scotland and Northern Ireland in January 2027. Everything else on this page applies to you today.
Can a driver see what a job is worth?
No. The driver surface never shows a price, a charge amount, an office note or another driver's work. A driver can flag a wasted journey, and the office decides what it costs.
What if the signal drops mid-job?
Whatever the driver has keyed is kept on the phone until it is sent. A completion that had to be retried is recorded exactly once, never twice.
Does it do our accounts?
No. TreadTrace issues the invoices and credit notes, records the payments and says what each account owes and who is overdue. Every document exports as a CSV, one row per line, for your accountant or your accounts package. Your ledger stays where it is.
How do we get started?
Start the free trial: an email, a code and your company's name, and you are in your own account, free for 30 days with no card. It walks you through your grades, tip sites, vans and team to your first booked collection. If you would rather be shown, book a walkthrough and we set it up with you on a call, using your own week's work.
Ready before 1 October 2026?
